Here I am Lord: Four women experience religious life
"If you hear Someone calling you in the middle of the night"
These very words from a song echoed non stop at the Convent of the Daughters of Wisdom in Ottawa, on November 3rd and 4th.
Yes indeed, four women lived quite intense moments here, 24 hours filled with joy, listening, sharing and prayer. These women were already pursuing their faith journeys, but wished to go further. They came because they wanted to explore consecrated life with the Daughters of Wisdom. Their names are: Yves-Rose, Marie-Sophie, Jonelle and Carine. Three came from Ottawa, and one from Sudbury.
Let us hear what they have to say about their experience:
- Something true, strong, peaceful and joyful was awakened in me.
- I really feel the passion of Love boiling within me!
- The sharing with the Daughters of Wisdom has awakened me in a most unexpected way!
- I came to meet the Daughters of Wisdom in order to find an answer to the call of the Lord, a call that I feel since childhood to consecrate my life to the Lord and to serve Him.
- I was really touched by community life. Here, it is one big family, regardless of origins.
- I really loved the sharing Sr. Gilberte and Sr. Bertha gave. Their lives are so filled with joy! They really touched me with their wisdom, their outlook on life that can be summed up in one word: Love.
- When Sr. Lois shared her missionary life experience with us, I thought I was meeting Mother Theresa # 2!
- I would like to come back as often as possible!
Thank you for the dedication of Sisters Gilberte, Bertha, Jeannine and Monique. Thank you to the two sisters who gave their life stories with such faith: Sr. Marie-Andrée Lafleur, and Sr. Lois Mathieu. Thank you to all the sisters for their warm welcome.
