Vocation Meditation - Jan. 20

John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and declared, "Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is he of whom I said, 'After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me because he was before me.' I myself did not know him; but I came baptizing with water for this reason, that he might be revealed to Israel."
John, the Baptist, was the forerunner of Jesus. Inspired by the Spirit, he introduced Jesus to those around him as Lamb of God, as one meek and humble, the Lamb now present amidst God's flock, the Lamb ready for Sacrifice. Before Jesus' greatness and mission, John declared his vocation with courage and humility.
Do I take courage in answering God's call and declare it with humility?
