Vocation Meditation - Jan. 13
Baptism of the Lord
And when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased."
Jesus' baptism is the second manifestation of His unique identity before the world. From Jordan to Jerusalem, everywhere he went, Jesus was faithful to His calling: as God's Son and as His Beloved who did what pleases the Father. In my baptism, my identity became like Jesus', too.
Is this identity transparent in my choices, revealing my faithful and loving relationship with God before the world?
