"The Lord is my light and my salvation" (Psalm 27)

Meditation

Jesus took Peter and James and John and went up
to the mountain to pray. And while he was praying,
the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes
became dazzling white.

Suddenly they saw two men, Moses and Elijah
talking to Jesus. They appeared in glory
and were speaking of his departure,
which he was about to accomplish in Jerusalem.

Then from the cloud came a voice that said,
"This is my beloved Son, my chosen; listen to him."

Luke 9:28-36

Reflection

Do I recognize that in Jesus I too am beloved and chosen of God, entrusted to be God's disciple? Do I hear the call to serve with all that I am?

Prayer

Ever gracious God, may I become more attentive to you speaking to my heart, listening for the cues that will direct me in doing your will.
