Palm Sunday 2007
"As Jesus rode along people kept spreading their cloaks on the road. The whole multitude of disciples began to praise God joyfully and with loud voice: "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord."
(from Introductory Prayers)
When the hour came, Jesus took his place at the table and the apostles with him; "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I tell you I will not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God."
Then he made his way to the Mount of Olives, knelt down and prayed, 'Father if you are willing, remove this cup from me; yet not my will but yours be done.'
( Luke 22:41-42)
Jesus humbly and freely accepted the cross out of obedience and trust in the will of his Father. In my own trials of life, I too am offered by God all that was given to Jesus.
Jesus, how often I can feel discouraged because of my own human failings and limitations. But when I do everything with you and in you, nothing is lost, all is gained.
